Green IT Monthly News

August 2009 - Lester attended a waste workshop presented by the Sustainable Business Network. Our first step following the workshop was to audit our waste in an effort to try and reduce the amount of waste we produce. Smelly fun was had by all!

Waste audit

July 2009 - Megabyte is participating in the Sustainable Business Network - Get Sustainable Challenge 2009. Our aim is to obtain an independent review of our progress and highlight any additional areas we need to concentrate on in our quest to be a responsible IT provider.

June 2009 - Megabyte now collect old computer equipment from clients, securely erase any drives and then pay to have it responsibly recycled/reused. For more information please contact John Hungerford.

May 2009 - There are too many bad practices that exist which result in computer waste being sent to China where people take them apart with their bare hands, resulting in very poor health and living conditions.

How we source and design IT networks can have a direct impact on computer waste.

Megabyte Reuse

Megabyte is passionate about doing what we can to help reverse the effects computers have on our environment. We believe it all starts in your own back yard. We want our environment to be available for the future generations to come.

Megabyte believe we have a responsibility to slow down the rate of electronic goods consumption. This means reusing computer equipment where we can and extending its life.

To find out how we do this, contact John Hungerford.
